Convert HEIC to JPG
Convert HEIC to JPG free in your browser: upload a .heic file above and download it as .jpg in seconds. No signup, no watermarks. A little, yes — JPG is a lossy format, so the encoder discards data it considers invisible. At typical quality settings the difference is imperceptible for photos. If you plan to edit the image further, keep a copy of the HEIC original.

Should You Convert HEIC to JPG?
Conversion changes how your image is stored, not what it shows. Switching from HEIC to JPG trades one set of strengths for another, so it helps to know which side of that trade you are on.
Good reasons to switch
- ✓Universal support
- ✓Good compression for photos
- ✓Fast encoding
- ✓You need the file in a program or platform that only accepts .jpg
Better off staying with HEIC
- ✗50% smaller than JPEG — conversion does not remove this trade-off
- ✗10-bit color depth — conversion does not remove this trade-off
- ✗HDR support — conversion does not remove this trade-off
- ✗Nothing about your current workflow requires .jpg
What Changes When You Convert
Quality
Both formats support lossy compression, so quality depends on the settings used. A high-quality JPG export is visually indistinguishable from the HEIC original for almost all content.
Transparency
Any transparent areas in your HEIC file will be filled with a solid background (usually white) because JPG has no alpha channel.
Animation
If your HEIC file is animated, only the first frame carries over — JPG stores a single still image.
File size
The JPG file will usually be larger than your HEIC original, since HEIC compresses more efficiently (typically around half the size of JPEG at similar quality).

How the Converter Works
- Upload — drop your .heic file into the tool above. It is processed temporarily and never shared.
- Convert — the file is re-encoded as .jpg with sensible default quality settings.
- Download — grab the finished .jpg file. Nothing is stored after processing.
